Alright, so you're engaged and planning your dream wedding. You know what you want, but you're not entirely sure how to execute it. You've created a pinterest board specifically for your wedding and you are having a hard time piecing it all together with what is available to you in your state and let's be honest, in your budget. If there is one thing we know, it is how to help with a good lounge set up. We always talk about how our pieces are really the 'foundation' for a good set up. You need all the small details, like small floral arrangements, pillows, throws and candles, to really create a dreamy lounge at your wedding similar to the ones you've seen on the interest. Lounges are a great and easy way to make your guests feel like the VIP they all are. By creating a stylish and simple lounge area, you're bound to set the exact vibe you're going for. Comfortable and stylish sofas, chairs, and tables will invite new conversation with guests who don't know each other. Another plus to providing a lounge space or two at your wedding or special event, is the relaxation aspect. Many people feel anxious at weddings and have a hard time being in a space with lots of new people they may not know. Providing a comfortable seating area that is curated to the style of your event is the perfect spot for those folks who need to take a seat and relax. We want to share with you a few steps on how to get the lounge set up of your dream and how to work with furniture rental companies to ensure you're getting exactly what it is you're looking for.
Figure Out Your Aesthetic
Are you a boho couple who is into all things wicker and peacock chairs? Or, are you more classic, a couple who wants to stick to more timeless pieces like vintage couches and upholstered chairs? I am a big believer in sticking to what style you want and making sure that is throughout your wedding. If you're more boho, be sure to include boho touches throughout your entire wedding and space. Find a venue that matches your style. If you're planning on a very boho decor set up, you should find a nice venue that features lots of outdoor elements rather than sticking to an enclosed ballroom, wild flower designed centerpieces, using mix and match glasses and really focus on the free spirited vibe the two of you represent. If you're a classic couple, who wants to have every table setting matching perfectly, round floral centerpieces, a ballroom may be the perfect fit and your style will be represented in the best way. Once you've got your colors, location, and the overall vibe of your day figured out, start piecing together the smaller details that are the cherry on top of your wedding day like a perfect lounge. Find the elements that are represented in other aspect of your setting and try to find the best company and pieces that match your specific taste.
Have Fun With Color
We recommend having a little more fun with your lounge! There are two ways you can go about this... The first would be to have more color in the lounge. Use colorful pillows, upholstered seating with colorful fabric or adding vintage rugs to your lounge. You can have your lounge be the most colorful thing at your wedding, all while sticking to your overall color palette. The second would for those planning a simple styled event (say, an all white wedding with touches of green), the lounge may be a great spot to add some color or muted tones in there. Think of natural elements like a wooden coffee table, some grey and beige pillows, a simple cream rug with a subtle green pattern and baskets to add some more texture with different types of materials. This is a great way to mix and match with pieces all while sticking to the overall colors of your wedding, and not going over board. Find pieces that enhance your color palette but don't go overboard.
Stick To Your Budget
Budget, budget, budget... something EVERYONE has when planning an event or wedding. We always recommend finding a list of pieces that are in your budget, and playing with those. If you are trying to mix and match pieces but really love the more 'expensive' piece on the list rather than the one that fits in your budget, make some adjustments to get what you want all while staying in your budget. You don't necessarily NEED a coffee table so why not exchange that for a side table or two, and get the couch that fits your style and vision perfectly. Whichever company you're working with wants to make sure that you are getting what it is exactly you want. Be transparent and let them know what you have put aside for the furniture rentals and see what ideas they may have to get you a beautiful lounge set up that is within that budget.
Ask For Help
Don't have the slightest idea of where to start when designing a lounge set up? Ask for help! We want to be a reference, a guide, and over all source for making sure your dream day is the dreamiest day it can possibly be. We love to put together simple style boards for our clients recommending what we think would work best with what it is they have described to us. We do this at no extra cost for our clients, because we also want to make sure we are on the same page with our clients. The last thing I want is to deliver something and have the client be mortified that it is way too bright or not how the had envisioned. We want to make sure they are happy with the end result.
